More than a profile, this work is an essay that weaves together insights, guiding principles, and assumptions, as interpreted by Visentin in a purely speculative sense. It thus engages with Visentin’s themes in an attempt to grasp the implications and consequences, within the doxastic domains of economic and social action, of ontological theses and reflections – particularly those concerning the unbridgeable separation between the meaning of true being and the distortions of doxastic reality, or rather their indirect point of tangency. Starting from Marx’s problem of value, the author explores how Visentin’s analytical approach leads to recognising the transcendentally illusory character of any metaphysical and systematic philosophical construction, the most radical and coherent of which are found in Idealism. At the centre of the analysis remains doxastic consciousness, exposed to the regressive checkmate imposed by the gaze of other, particular, and unfounded consciousnesses. The impossibility of a coherent and stable hegemony renders the existence of finite consciousnesses – within the temporal curvature of limited realities – a speculative and ultimately impossible confrontation with mortality.
