This article aims to provide a brief outline of the ‘state of the art’ about Giovanni Gentile and his theoretical system, between the last decades and contemporary philosophy. We will focus mainly on the conceptual revisions of Attualismo offered in recent years, through publications or republications of contemporary Italian thinkers. Throughout the article, we will evoke figures such Emanuele Severino, Gennaro Sasso, Andrea Emo, Carlo Diano and Giovanni Romano Bacchin. Despite their differences in background and theoretical approaches, they were all important characters of Italian philosophy in the second half of the 20th century and in contemporary philosophy. They were also united by debts of some kind to gentilian Actualism.
