Croce, Gramsci e il concetto di previsione

The essay proposes a philological reconstruction of the conception of the prediction of Benedetto Croce and Antonio Gramsci. The first part diachronically reconstructs the Crocean reflection on the problem of prediction from the first essays of the end of the Nineteenth century to the reflections on the predictive act of The Philosophy of the Practical and Logic as the Science of the Pure Concept, questioning its development in relation to the dialogue with Antonio Labriola, Giovanni Gentile and the Italian pragmatists. The second part traces the diachronic evolution of the reflection on the notion of prediction in the Prison Notebooks, therein questioning the influences of David Ricardo’s economic theory.
